Revolutionens barn

Sights in the City:
The Birth of the Revolutionaries

By a bus-stop
On the road past Ladbroke Grove
A random riot takes its course:

Because of colour, class and creed
A tumultuous gathering of teens
Are reoccurringly refused
By the passing afternoon express
On its way, heading north.

Infuriated, the oppressed
make a unified decision,
To stand their ground and dressed
In daily uniform they flow
Onto the middle of the street;
A cluster of cells, for a moment
Forming Life.

Realising there is no way through
Resigned, a driver gives a forced
Surrender.
Dejected, he lets his doors swing open to receive
The micro-revolutionaries scoffing
Roar and scornful laughter as they board
In a state that’s worsened by their strife.

Spurred on by Victory's exhilarating craze
The deluges chanting lasts
All the way past Kensal Green,
Over the Rise to Wandsworth High Road
Where they accordingly
Unload and disperse into the lanes.
